Applications
Equipment is specified from the worksite, not from a catalogue page. These three pages set out what a substation, a railway catenary and a solar plant each demand of the person working on live or isolated equipment, and which part of our range answers it.
The same isolator is closed in all three settings, and yet the three jobs need different kit. On a switchgear panel the constraint is the space you can stand in and the geometry of the busbar. On a railway catenary it is the conductor itself and the fact that the set has to be applied at height. In a solar plant it is a live DC array that cannot be switched off the way an AC circuit can.
Each page below works through the sequence at the point of work — isolate, prove dead, earth, work under protection, account for the tools — and names the products that answer each step, with the standard each one is made to.
